ワイヤレスオプトジェネティクスといえば

テレオプト Teleopto




2種類のトリガーモード

オプトジェネティクスでは光感受性タンパク質を脳の特定の神経細胞に遺伝子操作で発現させます。

一般に、興奮性タンパク質のチャネルロドプシン2などは高頻度の青色光パルスを使い、抑制性タンパク質のハロロドプシンなどは黄色光を継続的に照射します。

また、チャネルロドプシン2の改変型であるC128Sは青色光照射で興奮、黄色光照射で抑制ができます。

このそれぞれの実験系に対応できるよう、リモコンに3つのモード切替機能を加えました。

下図のように、P(Pulse)モードではトリガーパルス通りに発光し高頻度パルス刺激に向きます。

C(Continuous)モードではトリガーパルスごとに光のOn/Offが切り替わり、継続光照射に向きます。

2P(2チャンネルパルス)モードでは2チャンネル分の独立したトリガーパルスを使い、2色の刺激を独立してコントロールできます。型式に-2Pが付いた受信機はこのモードで使用します。2色で刺激するには2色LEDカニューラ、または脳表用2色LEDプローブを一緒に用いる必要があります。

※それぞれのモードに対応した受信機を使う必要があります。

型番に-PはPモード対応、-CはCモード対応です。


リモコン操作

リモコンはスティムレータからのトリガーシグナルを受け、受信機に信号を送信します。同期した光パルスがLEDカニューラの先端から出力されます。

デュアルLEDカニューラで両側刺激が可能です。

オプトジェネティクスは光刺激で脳の特定の場所だけ興奮、あるいは抑制させて、動物の行動を操作できる夢の技術です。まるでテレビのリモコンのように、遠くからボタンでチャンネルを操作する…それを可能としたのが、北京脳科学センターの山中章弘教授とバイオリサーチセンターが共同開発した「テレオプト」なのです。
